I do take issue with those who claim that the others of the Mane Six went out to 'humiliate' Rainbow. That isn't really the case - they were trying to show her that she didn't need to grandstand and shouldn't grandstand when lives are on the line. Most of the times when MDW upstaged Rainbow it was because she was so busy playing up to the crowd that MDW got to the scene of the action first.
That said... MDW and Rainbow as... I dunno... Supermane...? Well, it might make a good team-up in a fanfiction. Their rescue double-act at the building site showed the potential for them to have worked together for the greater good.
